As a newbie to newbies: Try this, it's super fun! (and great exercise)
- Take/choose photo of you and use it as reference. (more contrast means less work)
- Use one basic-shaped brush and sketch main values (in few minutes you have something as on second picture)
- Next 30 minutes add more and more detail only with downsizing the same brush
- Then you can add some finishing lights, backlights, color in multiple layer etc.
I attached my "selfie" (took from public toilets in shopping centre ) which I used as reference.
Just remember - Watch and study reference photo. Be quick. Don't think negative when you are on the half way. Have fun and amplify your inner self to this painting
