Description
Blacksad is one of my favorite comics and I always wanted to see a cartoon based on the book. Got tired of waiting so I did what I thought it might look like on my own. The logo was taken from the Blacksad sketch files so it's not mine, only the illustration. I was inspired by the sketch blog of some friends of mine over at [link] who are doing a Blacksad themed sketch week.Hope you dig!

Mwahahaaa... Guarnido sets the bar too high! 'Course, it don't hurt that he's an animator himself, and it shows on every goddamn page.
Prof. Wiki says there was some development of a film version in 2006, but it hasn't been mentioned since 2008. Given how sadly Chomet's The Illusionist performed, I don't know if there's a place for another full-length feature animated project aimed at adults, even one based on such awesome content as Blacksad.
And really, the only way it would satisfy is if he directed it, and I don't know if he's willing to kill himself.
Anyone know when we're getting The Hell, The Silence? Trying to translate the French version just ain't cuttin' it for me!

Sorry, I don't know who/what "Blacksad" is... but, I'll take a look now.
Sweet piece though, my friend! Really dig it. Of course, I like anything with falling snow in it. Always gives it a nice atmosphere.

Beautiful work translating the watercolor style of the book into a cel-style. I'd love to see a for-adults animation based on this series. The latest book in the series would just be great as an animated series or film--all the bright colors and sounds of New Orleans would really be brought to life!
The buildings reflected in the water are a wonderful touch too, setting more of the scene for us without you having to draw in a full background.

Blacksad has proven to be a very well written and well illustrated series with so much emotion and torment. I love the style, and so seeing your take is certainly a change but I feel it would be fitting.
