Ho...ly...F**k....I cant tell you how many different backgrounds, special affects, poses, and spot patterns I tried in getting this to look the way it does. So the backgrounds a little painterly? SO WHAT! I think it makes it look rather marvelous and whimsical.
This was a HUGE commission that I sort of decided to really run with. I am particularly proud of the ring around the moon... go figure. And I am actually VERY pleased with the face, expression, and the hair. Though you will have to really look closely to see all of that.

I see the work that went into this but i'm saddened that there isn't the same amount of light detail that you've created in other pieces. I feel like she should have more reflections from the moonlight and look less like she's pasted on top of a starry night background. That's what makes it look flat to me.
I think the clouds look great! and the design itself is good.
But the sky is more painterly than I'd prefer. Maybe a layer of texture behind it and fade back the hard lines into softer ones?
either way I'm glad you did this and challenged yourself nonetheless.
