without the ice climbers we needed a new Obscure Retro Character and duck hunt dog+duck is like, the most obscure we can get besides rob. i don't think ANY nes zapper games have been rereleased in a playable form

Is Duck Hunt that obscure? It was packaged as an NES launch title along with Mario Bros, so I know a lot of people (especially over 30) who are familiar with it. But maybe that's just me!

Though the Wii would have been perfect for it.

Maybe this is a sign that there'll be an updated Duck Hunt for the Wii U.

I like the idea that Sakurai just roots through Nintendo's Elder Canon and revives dead games in a new forme.
