Description Note from me 2 years later: I just want to mention that this pattern is extremely old and was made for my first plushie ever; as such it is not up to the standards of my most recent patterns. That being said I gain nothing from deleting it, but I just want you to take it into consideration.

Re-uploaded on request, because I forgot that imgur does prune their images. Feel free to use as you wish, just give me some credit if you decide to use this pattern as a base. And let me know as well; I'd love to see what you create using it.

Helioptile's not actually so hard to make; if it weren't for the little triangles on his head, I'd call him a great beginner plush to make! The triangles are a little bit frustrating, but nothing that can't a little patience can't overcome. The only other comment I made is that I originally made this pattern assuming that Helioptile was going to be able to stand up, but ultimately I decided to have him in a sitting pose with his tail acting as a third support. Because of this you may need to adjust the neck so that when he's sitting down, his neck will be straight up. The plush I made with this pattern is here: diffeomorphism.deviantart.com/…

If I may ask, how did you get the triangles on the head to sew and come out correctly when sewn together?

Yeah I had a lot of trouble figuring that out at first The most important thing is to always make sure you're sewing along the seam lines! When you sew together parts that aren't just a single straight line, the fabric is going to resist your attempts to "bend" the path, so the wrong side of the fabric will look rather contorted; however, when you flip it over and look at the right side, you'll see that you get the desired pattern.

Something that helps out a ton (and which I've been doing more with my recent patterns) is to make additional marks along the path that you transfer to both pieces of fabric; then, when you're sewing the pieces of fabric together, you use those marks as a checkpoint of sorts to make sure the pieces of fabric are aligned right. So I'd mark each line segment of the triangle 1/3 and 2/3 of the way (or 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 of the way, depends on how large your pattern is), and then when stitching the fabric together, I'll always make sure that the stitches meet up at those marks.

I'd suggest practicing on a test piece of fabric; try sewing together a pattern which looks something like [_>_], and you should see how it works fairly easily. Good luck!

I think I should be good, I tend to create my own patterns for plush (even though I think it's the most frustrating part of a project, lol). Thanks for the offer though!

Heh, I didn't think I was any good with needles before I started this project (even now I don't think I'm any good lol, I keep stabbing myself with the darn things). Good luck!
