You really thought well about line thickness and accentuated yourself very well in the self-portrait. I especially like the shadows in your face. The visible strokes also put an emphasis on the power the figure radiates. And the focal point really pops from the background.
The methods you used for this artwork don't make it extremely original. But what I find interesting about this piece is that you cropped a good part of the arms out of the frame. This really puts the focus on the centre, even though the face is the most vague part of the painting.
The technique is not wonderful, but it does work in this painting. What I particularly find questionable is the shadowing on the body and the nipples (or what seem to be nipples) too high positioned on the body.
The impact could have been better as well if you didn't choose for a rather messy and colourful background. It tends to draw attention on itself, away from the focal point. Also there is a lack of flow in the strokes you used to fill your background with. Try to make it more of a whole next time.

Hey dank je wel voor je critiques. Ik zie dat je Nederlandse bent...dus vandaar dit nederlands. De kritiek die je geeft heb ik zeker wat aan en kan me er ook wel in vinden. Bedankt dat je de moeite hebt willen nemen om kritisch naar mijn werk te kijken. 1 dingetje moet ik echter wel ff corrigeren...LOL uhmm..die tepels zitten op de goede hoogte en horen daar echt wel..maar goed d'as maar een kleinigheidje natuurlijk. Moeder natuur he!!
Nogmaals bedankt voor je constructieve en opbouwende kritiek....
