Description You will need a flash player to view this video... please click here to download if you cannot see the video [link]

You must have basic knowledge of photoshop to do this tutorial.

The Stamps here at dA were originally created by $liquisoft.
=ipholio is the creator of the mini stamp.

This is a video tut that will show you how to make a dev stamp.

Im not the creator of this..nor claim to be..these have been done a million times in other tutorials here on da....I have only sped the process up a bit with some short cuts in Photoshop.
I hope it helps.

UPDATE....if you want to preserve transparency and you have IE6 or older you could also save this as a GIF image. Thanks to Vectortrance for reminding me.

ALSO your final stamp size should be 99 x 56 pixels.

your very welcome..and yes its very easy...just a bit tedious making the edges but once you have one...just save it as a psd file and then you will only have to change the middle

Kaede-chama In reply to ??? [2007-05-04 00:59:18 +0000 UTC]

so THAT's how they do it!! OoO *takesnotes*

Is it also possible to leave everything around the stamp transparent, and leave the dropshadow to the journal?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DigitalPhenom In reply to Kaede-chama [2007-05-05 15:38:34 +0000 UTC]

yes..just skip that section or just untick the layer for the drop shadow before you save.

Kaede-chama In reply to DigitalPhenom [2007-05-06 01:57:48 +0000 UTC]

It's really our pleasure to be able to offer such a useful feature for our club members to use. The video/sound is such a helpful and creative medium for learning how to make stamps. People can really SEE what to do instead of trying to make heads and tails out of someone else's writing style and instructions. It's a fabulous contribution to the art community and (specifically) to iconists.

I use Ulead PhotoImpact (6.0). Most of the time I can usually convert PS tutorials for PI. But I never actually saw anyone using PS before. So this was a fascinating tutorial for me to watch.

awesome! i tried it. everything worked.
i just wonder about the black layer at the top.... what's it for? and when i delete it the transparent area stays... what to do with that?..... (never done that before)

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

DigitalPhenom In reply to my-try [2007-04-24 01:26:00 +0000 UTC]

hhmm black layer? Ill have to watch it again..I made that awhile back....but the transparent part is so it takes on whatever background you put it on.....thats why you save a as a .png so all the different colored journals will have a drop shadow and not just white behind it but the color of your journal. I hope thats whats you meant..lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

my-try In reply to my-try [2007-04-23 22:10:55 +0000 UTC]

oh... i think i just understood why it stays transparent...
