This is a video tut that will show you how to make a dev stamp.
Im not the creator of this..nor claim to be..these have been done a million times in other tutorials here on da....I have only sped the process up a bit with some short cuts in Photoshop.

UPDATE....if you want to preserve transparency and you have IE6 or older you could also save this as a GIF image. Thanks to Vectortrance for reminding me. 
ALSO your final stamp size should be 99 x 56 pixels.

One question though, I dont know why, but it wont let me save it as png. There isnt even the option for me to :\

i have a question.....
i tried to make one like this tutorial..
but...ehm..i have Photoshop CS 3 but when i click "new"..there it's no "STAMP"..
what can i do?

that is a preset I have made..so when I go to make a stamp its there.....go to file, then new...make the size I have stated to start your stamp, then on the right side of that window you will see "save preset" Click that and call it stamp///now the next time you want to make a stamp, its there

well..I started with 7 and then when through all stages of it in the last 7 years ...I have photoshop cs3 extended now...these videos were shot using cs2 though...There a few differences between the two but nother really drastic..but id say that if your shopping for photoshop you might as well just get the newest one.

for the stamp, how do you save the size settings? on your photoshop, you had a "STAMP" size.

When you click NEW.....then the new dialog pops up...make your size and then on the right it says "save Preset" click that and name it.
