here is an underpainting I did of a symbolic self portrait line drawing done byabout 1 hour for me. updated, about another hour into it. I think its done......

Nice work...too bad's it's 600 instead of 800, there's a little detail near the mouth that's obscured.

yeah, the b/g is a little disorienting. I wanted to give off the sense of drunkeness/ all around sloppiness. since that was my interpretation of his body language anyway.

crit wise, its tough to tell where the light is coming from. most of it looks like the light is coming from the left, but some of the legs look the opposite. I think this piece could benefit from some more exagerated highlights and more color in the tones. try to experiment with the idea of a warm light and cool shadows, or vise versa... I see some blue in the shadows in places, but I think it could be taken further...

how that jook? I tried to beef it up a little bit as far as value. its still a little dark though. I have it planned out as the light shining down from teh upper right hand coner.
