Carton model block-form progress

I want to create non-linear blocky form out of egg-cartons that looked like some sort of exo-skeleton type-like body configuration for mech.? Throughout the progress, I have gone back and forth sketching and flushing the design out as I'm making these..

Currently confused and couldn't figure out what to do next as the last image shows where I left off. I have also looked at reference images of mechs for inspiration and getting some sort ideas to form and function. My ideas are unclear at the moment if I want to be specific about the background-story of the mech or let it be just an abstract paper model that looks like a mech..
Materials I used so far: egg-carton, left over pla-model base-structure, paper clips, and package sponge
