Description This is a picture of my redesign of King Kong for a Fanfiction I have been working on. This Kong is a clone of the original King Kong as featured in Peter Jackson's film, and is based off of the Kong from Kong: the Animated series as well as PJ's Kong.
This Kong was cloned by a scientist who visited Skull Island and learned of her involvment in a prophesy involving the resurection of Kong, the Protector of Atlantis. Skull Island is the reminants of Atlantis, the ruins testiment of the old empire. Shamans living in the island, away from the inbred savages that live on the safe side of the wall and sacrifice girls to Kong, tell her of Kong's true oragins as the protector of Atlantis, apes bred to great size by the Atlantians and gifted with prophetic mystic might.
Years later, When Cloning was developed, Lorna Jenkins cloned Kong using preserved samples of Kong's flesh stolen from the Government. To fill in gaps in Kong's DNA code, Lorna used the DNA of her grandson Jason to fill in the gaps, like frog DNA was used to make the Dinosaurs of Jurassic Park. As such, Kong has bluish tinted skin an fur as an side effect of the process.
The prophosy fufiled, the cloned Kong was returned to Skull Island to become the Protector once more. But his adventures has only just begun.

Okay, and speaking of time period, do you have an idea as to what year/years Kong: The Animated Series and its two sequels take place? My guess is the 1980s, since it takes place years after the original Kong fell to his death, and the technology compared to 1933 is more advanced (computers, police helicopters, etc).

That does sound like a good story. Are you going to explain how Vastatosaurus Rex and the other dinosaurs managed to survive in Atlantis through the mass exinction?

Well, Skull Island was sort of explained in the supplemental books to go with the movie. Skull Island is an issolated ecosystem, much like Australia, and as such, the Dinosaurs and other reptiles survived mass extinction on other parts of the world, and through this issolated ecosystem, managed to survive and evolve though millions of more years. Why Skull Island's Dinosaurus managed to survive while the rest of the World's dinosaurs died is unknown, but its issolation and place in the world is perhaps to blame, perhaps being loccated in a small sunny spot when the rest of the world was covered in meteor dust.
Atlantis itself, and the civilization that lives there has little to due with the Dinosaurs, the civilization developing much later.

Very interesting take on ol' King Kong. Sounds really cool; I like the aspect of Skull Island being the last surviving part of Atlantis. But what about Gamera? He was created by the Atlantians to help fend off the Gyaos, will they pop up in the story or is my imagionation running wild again?

Oh, thank you. Unfortunatly, this is a seperate continuity from either Godzilla or Gamera, and the scale of monster fights takes place on a smaller scale, like the original Kong. However, some Kong realted Kaiju like Mechani-Kong and Gorosaurus are planned for this story as well as some other nasty monsters. The Atlantis of this series has enough monsters to worry about without having to worry about Gyaos.
However, Gyaos could always be an interesting foe for Kong, especially if I decide to do a sequal with Queen Reptilla from Kong, King of Atlantis.
However, I always thought the notion of Kong teaming up with either Mothra or Gamera was an interesting one. Now only to come out with the proper idea to have them team up together.
