Description Yay! A white christmas!

...Like that's ever gonna happen here XD

So, here's a quick digital painting in which I was experimenting more. I didn't mean this picture to turn out so gloomy, but oh wellz, I like the colors. It's really messy 'cus I used only two layers, one for the bg and one for the figure. (Woops.)

But anyways, Happy Holidays! Now I'm off to spend some time with my family :3

EDIT: Erk, the colors are all wrong 'cus apparently I was using the wrong viewing settings >o< Well, now I know for the next one XP

If you want to do cleaner paintings you've to keep one hand on the keyboard or create some shortcuts on your tablet
It's essential that you have the picker tool and brush tool within reach at all time if you want to blend
You might also want to make sure you've got size controlled by pen pressure. That'll help you with the hairs
Also, make sure you know where the increase and decrease brush size buttons are ("[" and "]")

I'm guessing you know that shadows shouldn't be just a color mixed with black, but with another color.

I suggest you take a look at an anatomy book like a Loomis or something.

Hmm. I think the problem with the shadows is due to the fact that dA somehow bleached it when I submitted it. In my photoshop window, its much more saturated and darker - here, some of the shadows are actually missing.

make sure you're saving things in a good format

.png is good

i dunno whats going on with the saturated thing
maybe you need to merge layers before saving?

Well, I did the figure all on one layer :/ So I dunno. I asked my brother, and he said dA just did something weird...

.png? Usually I use .jpeg. Is that bad..?

.jpeg compression is terrible in general

use .png please
.jpg is the worst when you are working with lineart, btw

What's the picker tool? I left the hair and other stuff blocked in thick strokes on purpose, tho.

Does it look like the shadows are just black + color? ><;; I didn't mean to, I'll have to be more careful next time.

Thanks for the link
