Description
Fractal thingy 8My first "attractive" fractal. Its so cute
Its like a curled up universe, emiting mightly light as it interects with the space between space.
I'm very pleased with how the color and texture turned out... I actually wouldn't mind a bit of comment on this, just tell me what you think

Thanks Its one of my better 'old' deviations (can't belive I'm calling something 3 months old 'old', but it was more than 150 deviations ago, so I guess it is old, lol)

old sounds about right!
Hey, you said everybody here knows Apophysis better than you, but I'd never even heard of it. I went and downloaded it and would love some help with working with it - I'm a fractal-virgin! So if you want to help, please, I'd love some!

Tips? Hmmmm... I can think of a few things that helped me out a good bit when I started.
One thing is to be selective on which variations you turn on if you do a random batch. If you put on all, it can often get a bit messy.
Also there is this button the "Mutation Button" which is very useful at times since it changes things randomly.
I learnt a month ago how makeing a fractal from scratch works. If you open the editor window (place with all the fun triangles)you can clear all the triangles away and start putting your own in and giving new number values to all the variations. (Linerar 3-D always starts at 1 but in most cases 0 is best since it can be a little evil if you don't know what is doing. I personally like sphereical and bubble alot.
You can move the triangles around and change their size and shape to make different things happen, but the best thing is to experiment with lots of different things (I couldn't possibly explain what everything does, I haven't even figured that out yet)
Though it is annoying, you should increase the quality of the render to something above 100 and make the image bigger than 106 pixles 100 quality is a bit grainy. So I use 1000. The only downside, it takes longer to render stuff (like 30mins or more) but it does get better results.
I would suggest finding at least one organized turorial to learn from I know alot of people make them here, I just don't know where they are right now.
But I think the number 1 thing is just to experiment. Try putting numberes everywhere that seems fun, and pressing all the buttons. I spent my first month learning like that and now I'm a 3 months old fractal artsit (this is one of my first, lol 8th technically) Oh and don't be afraid to alter stuff in photoshop if you have it. I love adding colors that weren't there before.
Hope that helps

It certainly does - !!! I pasted it into Word doc, so it's easier accessible, and I'll see if I can find more tutorials on dA as well. If you want to find them, try searching for Apophysis tutorials in the dA search engine. That's what I'm going to do!
The next thing I'm going to do is experiment! LOL Thanks a lot so far!

Very cool. I like the warm colors and the shape. What fractal program did you use?
Keep it up.

Thanks, I use Apophysis 2.02. Then I put them in photoshop and alter them. Fractals are kinda new to me, so I don't know how to get attractive color from raw fractals yet.

Thanks. I'm new to Apophysis also and I'm still learning. I also use Apophysis 2.08 beta and I like that one a little better. I'm getting ready to post a couple of new ones today so you might take a look. I'll check back with you.
