Description Fractal thingy 253

Zooxanthellae are fun little symbionts that live in corals and other animals that need help growing. The are photosynthetic so they will live in animals like sea annemones and feed them so that they can grow bigger and stronger. Without them coral reefs would not exist and instead we would have reefs of lumpy sponges and bryozoans (not as fun)

I have.... no clue what they look like, but the point is that they use sunlight and convert it into marine goodness with their magic... zooxanthelleaness. The make everything bigger, i think giant clams use them too...

And guess what!!! They made my deviation bigger too Now its at 4200x2700 pixles That means it can be a poster 36' by 24' Its too big, lol. Its going to be my new new size of making fractals, hope you enjoy.

This looks pretty awesome!

How'd you do it? (What program[s] did you use to make all these fractal thingies? )

Thanks, I'm glad you like it

I use Apophysis 2.08 3D hack (there are lots of versions, some more recent, but I'm happy with this one) Its free and didn't take too long to figure out how to use. That makes the fractal itself. However after they are rendered they don't often have the greatest color schemes, so I take them over to photoshop (ancient version is all I have, lol)and add smaller details like some saturation to the colors or a bit of blur and background. Its not nessesary, but I prefer to do it since I havn't really mastered fractals yet

Oh yes, everythingy I do NEEDS a computer. In grade 11 I took art class and tried to use acrylic paint (I was awful). I mean, it was better than poster paints, but I can't draw anything so it didn't matter, lol.

Fractals are complicated to explain... the programs themselves don't even look very 'art friendly' so I don't blame you for being confusesd
