I actually like the mouth rendition. That's the first thing that caught my eye. The fire being the yellow what bugs, but only a little bit. Otherwise I really like the colourscheme of the whole pick, and how you play with the fires light on the armour. It's pretty cool.

To be honest, I can see exactly where you're coming from with this depiction and that's why I like it. You gave him that reptilian look because of the features present in the Protectors, like those 3-clawed feet and the triangular mask remeniscent of a python head.
I mean I have no canon to go off of here, but it would certainly be cool if the Okoto residents were humanoids evolved from biomechanical reptiles.

Well at least I'm not the only one who sees stuff that way,
I figured that designing them so that they closely resemble the sets are somewhat boring, considering that everyone and their mother can do the same.
Granted, some redesigns are better looking than others, but it's always better than just mimicing something that already exists

What I try to do (and you've most likely noticed) is take features that are well-known on the sets and try to run them through a filter of my imagination.
But even then the more I do it the more unique a style begins to develop.

Exactly, and after a while that creative filter becomes more of a norm, and henceforth something you become known for - that is of course unless you're already known for the art you do already, in which case the more bonuses the better

The mouth looks cool,but it makes him look too animalistic,which doesn't fix him at all. othereise great.

It's never always there in the animations, and something about it seems off-putting.. Just hanging over the shoulder.. I was considering it for a bit, but eventually decided against it.

Eerhh.. at least all the feedback is honest. I thought I was being somewhat clever with the mouth design but in hindsight you and some others make a really good point. I'll see what I can do to veer away from what you've mentioned,
