This artwork's meaning is really extracted from my inner self. Im one of those people who regret their past, most of you might fall into this category. This artwork shows Corey making peace with his past. A person doesnt create a past, he is always striving hard for the betterment of his future self; in other words, he always has a past to overwrite. A person doesnt write his past, it is meant to be like that in order to make some important changes. I think ive met a lot of people who have regrets from their past, I havent met Corey, but i think he does seem to have some regrets from his previous self, some regrets, things he feels he shouldnt have done, its all completely normal for a human, and he is the best example of how he changed himself. However, the message is to look at your previous self, give a hug to that person you were years before, learn from what he has to say, dont blame him for what he has done, accept that if he wasnt there, no one could have made you the person you are today.
Repeating again, You are writing your future in reality. Past is being written itself. Learn, work hard, do things youve never done before, overcome your fears and regrets, accept your inner flaws & dont ever let your past get you down. You change every second of your life, your every breath. Make that change and accept the man you were before. That is the biggest change i think Corey has brought in him.
The awkward couch is representation of the false form of comfort he has been in.
