OMG OMG OMG....
I got a DD?!?! WOW! Thank you soo much!!!
I don't even know what to say 8D
*flails*

Now I kinda wish I drew that little cat better

end edit

A simple tutorial on making your own texture brushes. Or textures. Or splatter brushes....heck, even just your own brushes.
I am using Photoshop Elements 4 for this. If you have a newer Photoshop, or even a different program. And are confused on how to do this. I don't think I can help you, seeing as this is the program I am used to. And as far as Sai goes? I don't think you can do this in Sai. But if you can, please do tell me how LOL.

Well I hope you guys found this useful. And good luck to it!

AND BTW. The part about the nail polish being splatters?

That's how I made my splatters XD
So most of the time, when you saw blood splatters in some of my images, it was probably nail polish, scanned and made into brushes using this process xDD

!N-N-N-N-N-N-N-NAIL POLISH!

I never thought at all about doing textures traditionally and then using them as brushes .. this is a really cool idea. xD

I even use a photo of some concrete I took for a texture. So taking photos of rocks and such with a decent camera could be of good use.
this is the texture btw lol

You may have more fun in creating your own stuff. That way your work is "closer" to you. You don't have to download, borrow, and or credit someone else for their stock as often.

Good luck to it if you should try it

Oh wow, that looks awesome when it's applied. And I fully agree! I hate using other peoples' brushes, it feels like I'm cheating. So I paint everything, which ... isn't the best way to go, either, I need to get in the habit of using brushes and textures more. Thanks for the advice.

And no probs. Hope you have fun creating with this stuff

No probs! I've never used Elements 6, I should assume this should work in that program though.
