Description
Something new i've been painting...Well, i say new, he's been half finished in my case for a while... im in one of those moods where i finish these things up!
Another in my Brian Nelson/John Blanche tryptic, to go with the Telepath seen elsewhere in my Gallery...
Quite pleased so far, although the red for the flames on the sword niggles me... that is just the basecoat but it already screams "wrong!" at me...
Suggestions would be most welcome!

I'm not much help with the suggestions for the flames on the sword, but it does look very promising.
I especially like the flesh tones and the way you've highlighted and shaded them.

hrm considered orange? I remember he did some chaos terminators a while back and the orange seemed to an interesting choice.... though that may be due to the colour choices as most of the model was neutral >.<

Yea, i've had orange suggested, but his hair is already orange, and i wanted that detail unique...

I know the feeling skulltakers cloak is driving me insane cause I'm unsure what colour to do the khorne symbols on it >.<

Haha nice, when I saw the hair I immediately thought "I have to see it!"
And when I did, man did I get a good fit of laughter (in a good way.)
It's a nice piece over all for a WIP, but yes the red flames seem to not stand out (if thats what you are aiming for.) I haven't seen much on Blanche's style, but OLS isn't something he aims for. Maybe just go a little crazy with streaks of bright color for flames. Possibly you can lay streaks or some other texture/ pattern of orange and yellows to look like flames?

Make the flame brighter and add directional lighting? idk but awesome so far!!

It has to fit in with the John Blanche theme though, and so im a little stuck as to what to do... OSL isnt his thing.
