Yet another design for my OZ story.

Does this character look familiar? It's the scarecrow!

I was originally going to make the scarecrow more human, but since I wanted the scarecrow, the tin man, and the cowardly lion to have such different back stories, I decided to make him 100% scarecrow. I tried to make him that classic scarecrow, but make him my own in some ways as well.

I don't remember everything, but I think that my back story for the Scarecrow is pretty close to the original.

Simply put, he was built and stuck on a pole in a cornfield to scare crows away.

I imagine him having been stuck on that pole for a few years, so I wanted to make him a bit "worn out." To accomplish this, I decided to make him a little roughed up. Throughout the story, he's going to have instances when something (arm, head, etc) fall off, so Dorothy ends up having to sew him up several times during their journey. My Scarecrow wishes for a brain, but he doesn't want to have one to scare crows like the original. I would imagine that the Scarecrow did fairly well at scaring crows away, but he dreamed of bigger things than that. I think that I'm going to have Scarecrow scare the crap out of Dorothy when the two first meet.

Just two questions.
