Description
Countries are torn apart because of racisim in color, race, and religion...Egypt is one of the few countries where Egyptian Muslims and Egyptian Christians are living together in peace and harmony...
No matter how much the West tries to break that apart...
God Bless...
For non-Arabic viewers, the pendants on the right side show the word ALLAH, right next to the cross pendants

"Egypt is one of the few countries where Egyptian Muslims and Egyptian Christians are living together in peace and harmony..." that's not exactically true. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Egypt. My best friend Egyptian, and I wanted to go there since I was in 1st grade in fact. She goes to visit family there every summer, and has come back with bad news. So many raids on Christians have occured. There were so bad she had to leave for safety. And I am from the US and so is she. She is very unhappy about those problems. I'm just saying.

you have to watch more news, our last revolution witnesses the best proof of our harmony when Copts protected the Muslims while they prayed in Tahrir and vice versa. All the attacks were by the old regime to turn people against themselves and keep them occupied

I hope you shall forever have peace, for some Uber Christians who believe Christianity is the only good religion will call Allah (Which means Christian God in English) the devil.

I think I noticed a "Star of David" top right
But well we have crosses sold in the gold market here as well.
It is the conflict between "Muslims" that is more distressing then the conflicting between Muslims and Non-Muslims...

yes I saw that in the UAE, but do u have Christian Emaratis? No... Thats what I am trying to show with this pic, about the harmony found between Egyptians of diff religions

True we don't have "Christian Emaraties"
But what I am trying to say is that we still have peace and harmony among the majority of people living here (I say majority because some can be a serious pain....)
But in my opinion it is "Allot" harder to respect someone from a different nationality even if you have a religion in common. And if you don't that is even "harder" since you are basically "Aliens" to each other.
And again, I emphasis the fact that we should still find harmony among "Muslims" in order to find harmony and respect among others.
To me each are important but one should be a priority then the other..

yeah i agree with eliXile, ppl never cared abt other's religions or not.. now ur religion defines who you are as a member of soceity and as a human...
i like the fact that there some countries where ppl still treat each other like normal and not kill each other on the basis of who they worship..
i like the powerful message this pic sends so

There was a time that all of this didn't matter. People didn't care what religion a person is as long as he was a vital member of society.
Today's generation is sick. Asking each other what religion they are as if it dictates whether you're a good person or not.
Not all Christians are Crusaders.
Not all Muslims are terrorists.
Not all Jews are Zionists.
I like such photos and I think it reminds everyone of a simpler time. Nice capture. Hope it opens up someone's eyes.
Sorry didn't comment earlier. Having a hard time getting through my Dev Watch.

exactly bro, I remember back in college, for 2 years I was the only Muslim guy in a group of Christian friends, never once did we fight or talk about religion... even in holidays we always wished each other the best, and even in Ramadan, they would try not to eat, smoke, or drink in front of me...
its ok man, I know u've been busy, but I knew this would appeal to u

hi ahmed,
thanks for sharing this, but i think it's hope more than reality. in minya, assiut, sohag, even in cairo, there wasn't always peace. even jewellers were attacked because they were christian or muslim, and a christian jeweller was killed in 1993.
it's no paradise, unfortunately. but it's a progress in human being, called evolution. and i'm glad that shenouda iii. and sheikh tantawi often take efforts to calm down some ticklish issues.
however, i like your picture, and it's definitely a sign of hope.

hi Zahid,
yes sadly these things do happen, we are not in the perfect world to say no wrong will happen. But compared to other countries, these incidents occur at a much lower rate. When do we hear about such incidents? twice or 3 times? Its still a good sign...
Thanks for ur input
