haha, i was trying to get a picture of a crab spider the other week and was having problems with the wind myself......i ended up WAY to close though and we both freaked out. needless to say i did not get the shot i was after. very nice work on this one.....i'm going to have to look up the difference between these and what i am referring to as a crab spider.....cause they look extrememly similar, just different coloration. well, keep up the great work. i love your photos!

The colors I've seen on most of these critters is black and white, this is one of the few orange ones I've seen.

I hope your close encounter was nothing more than a little scare!

yeah i see those colors too with a little red in there.....the scare was not bad for either of us.....the wind just blew the web into my lens and we both went running as fast as we could. pretty comical thinking back. my fiancee definitely got a good laugh out of it!

well, look forward to seeing more of your work. good health!

Well, I just learned that crab spiders are completely different from these! Their common name is Spiny Orb Weaver

It's a Spiny Orb Weaver I was trying to get it all in focus, but the DOF was too narrow and the breeze kept moving the web >.<

Wind is your worst enemy when taking pics of spiders in their webs
