Description
Photoshop drawing that started as a doodle with no particular design in mind.Clearly I was feeling a touch Lovecraftian that day...
EDIT : A little improvement here n there. Less of a pointy headed squid now.
EDIT : Lighting intensity improvement.

Looks pretty anthropomorphic for a Great Old One, but could be some kind of hybrid between Cthulhu and... Hulk?
Anyway, as good as always.

yes, it wasnt supposed to be anything specifically Lovecraftian, just in that sort of theme.

Cthulu
well this is awesome
His design is really cool for being just a doodle. I love how is mouth is drawn as many don't style them like that, and he has an expression of "da hell?"

always managed to make a total pigs ear of any version of Great Cthulhu when i tried to draw it properly, so i didnt try to this time This guy gets away with being some distant inbred cousin. Slime and tentacles will have to do

Yaaayyy, it's finished! Now I can savour the image's splendour down to its finest details.
And I daresay, the amount of devotion and skill amalgamated into every piece, this no less, never ceases to amaze me! The shading style you've used here gives him the impression of something that had just emerged from the water, or at least a creature who thrives with a hydrated exterior much in the fashion of something amphibious or aquatic. I can also see the intricate details of his skin, including the barnacles, and that exposed-muscle look to make it appear as if he might have been flayed contributes to the trademark macabre appeal that I just love about your art.
And the design of his face... incredible. o.o I'm allured by those narrow slits that emanate their own light like a cyborg's lens preparing to fire, and the lighting shafting down upon his back in the distance and upon this unprotected jaws makes this even more spectacular! (And forgive me for the randomness of the moment, but I'll admit that the jaw tentacles remind me of Davy Jones from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. xD ) Overall, it's wonderful to see you back in action again, as I've missed your art, and this is another job well done.
Excellent work!

You're welcome. And hmm... To be honest, no. o.o I mean, mythical creatures are fun to research from time-to-time, but the three possibilities I'm focused on as is are a novelist, an artist and a position at a wildlife sanctuary.

the trick is not to give up when, after a couple of dozen tentacles, you find that you want to STOP drawing bloody tentacles
