Oh boy... this got REAL long didn't it? There hasn't been any additions to the roster has there? *looks up* No good. Wendy O being Super Light doesn't sound right to me... AS IS WARIO BEING HEAVIER THAN METAL.

What I enjoyed about this was I got to play with Funky a bit. Diddy's giving him the side eye after the "Alright Mario Bro" comment.

The original story goes that Wario stole Koopa's kart and painted it for MK64. But yeah.

Well I wasted my Hi I'm Daisy joke... Anyway.

I actually like Shy Guy. And I enjoy when typical enemies are playable too. But they should be the last added to the roster. Birdo being the exception since the one with a ring is like the actual character now. Toadette could go there since she was created for Double Dash but she's appeared since in Thousand Year door and other spin offs right? And the Mario cast can always use more females.

The Mii is just a transparent pic, I get why they’re there but their voices suck. At least in MKWii they did.

The Koopalings seem to be a point of contention. Since they’re like 7 characters who could have gone to anyone else. But come on, if you grew up playing SMB3 or SMW you’d want these guys to appear in a Mario Kart game. I’m surprised they haven’t shown up in any sports titles.

Bowser Jr. not being in the game is a little strange though. I mean I don’t miss him since it allows me to make jokes like this explaining his absence.

There are “holes” in the Pink Gold Peach sprite because that’s just what happened, I edited the Peach sprite I used in the “Old gang” panel in PowerPoint and that happened. Hey if Nintendo isn’t going to try why shouldn’t I?

I was thinking about making a joke about Doc either possessing Diddy or it being Doc in disguise after Diddy’s massive rant. (Also just having a heap of talking in the one panel is bad comic making…) Diddy’s “Shut up let me talk” is more a satire of obnoxious commenters.

Metal Mario I’m okay with. Most characters I’m fine with. Its babies that baffle me. Baby Mario? Fine he’s basically the co-star of most Yoshi games, Baby Luigi, okay again. Baby Princesses? WHY?

I tried to include as many of the previous characters who’d be in Mario Kart games as I could when suggesting things better than Pink Gold Peach and more babies. The only ones who haven’t been in a Kart racer are Fawful (I suspect due to Alpha Dream owing the rights to him so it might be tricky, like in the case of Geno and Square.) Toadsworth, E Gadd, Dixie, Nabbit, Kamek, Wart and the Wario characters.

Toadsworth: I sorta get why he’s not there, since if we didn’t have jokes about so many babies or people with two adjectives in front of their names we’d then have jokes about Toads. But I like Toadsworth, either give him hosting duties (like in Mario Party 7) or make him playable.

E Gadd: He would have a kickass kart. Come on, why hasn’t E Gadd been playable in ANYTHING?

Dixie: Well I’m honestly surprised Funky got in over her. But if you need heavyweights Funky works. But again I’ll play the “more female characters” card.

Captain Syrup. Who doesn’t love Pirates? I’m seriously tempted to bring Syrup into DKA as a rival to Kruvy.

Ashley: Or witches for that matter. Give her a broom kart. She can share with Kamek.

Kamek: WHO was going to be in Mario Kart 64 before they got the model from Rare. If you’re going to give roster positions to enemies, give it to important ones.

Mona: She has a scooter… I guess. But yeah, more females, more Wario characters. Kit and Anna too, Wario has more regular female characters than Mario does at this point!

Wart: They remade Super Mario Bros 2 for the GBA and went to the trouble of giving him lines. Couldn’t they bring him back somehow? You can justify adding Shy Guy to the roster THEN if it were like Double Dash.

Also on the Dry version being retextures, unlike metal version, undead animated skeletons are awesome. Also: www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2rwxs…

I was originally going to have Diddy start crying there, but he was too angry. It’s a bit of a punch to the gut that Tikis can cameo in a DK stage while the only DK character in the last two Mario Kart games has been DK himself. Plus I wanted Waluigi to reveal in someone else’s misery for a change. Tiki is a render like the Mii Kart because I couldn’t find sprites. And now that I have done that I almost want actual sprites of these guys, I find Super Mario World style sprites of the bosses but… This guy. I can see him being a companion of Waluigi’s.

Another idea of Making Diddy cry was that he was so enraged that he’d rip his cap in two. It’s a moment I wish I could actually draw to do the vision justice. Oh well.
