Description
Just got my computer back and wanted to draw something to make sure it worked.I wanted to try drawing something in this style for awhile, I should make an Angelesti to match later (and work on making it look less shoddy)

I like retro illustration look you've got here. Have you ever tried drawing with the PS pen/paths tools? They're generally a pain but you can get something of an Adobe Illustrator look that way. Or so they say, I lose patience with it very easily.

I can't figure out how pen tool works for the life of me, I draw a line and then it just sits there and I yell at it to trace or fill or do something until I close the file and go cry.

Gave it a go. It is an evil tool of evilness and Brezhnevian inefficiency. The end pic is OK - [link] , but it took forever, considering how quick it would be just to draw and color something to the same look.

The regular pen tool is a severe pain, but there's a freehand pen tool that will convert a selection marquis into a path, which you can then edit with the arrow tool. It fills with foreground color by default, so you have to draw a new shape for every color you want. It gives you an effect similar to vectors, but as I'm typing this I can think of many easier ways to get the same look.
If you want to get smooth compound curves in something like a car, though, the pen tool can do it for you.
