It's a shame that nobody appreciates the hard work our dedicated sidewalk sweepers do. They literally sweep the streets free of trash (cigarette butts, candywrappers) from unconcerned motorists (sadly, littering in these parts does not consist of $1,000 fines unlike other countries) and get paid less than minimum wage that supports their families. Here is an example of two unsung heroes taking a break from it all, perhaps discussing either family matters or whatnot on a seemingly gloomy Monday morning at Luneta Park.
