Description

Seriously though Jinn seems to be the type of character who answers the question to the letter but ignores the intent of the person that asked it. So her saying that Ozpin can't destroy Salem isn't the same as saying nothing in Remnant can destroy Salem nor is it saying Opzin can't defeat Salem.

Ruby Rose and Jinn are from RWBY. RWBY is created by Rooster Teeth.

What if you asked a question without asking a question?

Could someone gain a lot more knowledge from her by phrasing their questions in a way that they no longer qualify as questions?

Like, instead of asking what Ozpin is hiding from them, just tell her that you want to know what he´s hiding.

Honestly this is a joke so I set it up in a way that created a punch line, but all jokes aside I think that the last RWBY episode showed that Jinn will not stand for being manipulated and knows when to put her foot down and say stop.

Yeah, but in that episode Ruby didn´t want to know anything.

If someone wanted to know something, but didn´t explicitly ask about it, I think Jinn would still provide some form of answer.

Maybe not as detailed as she normally would, but still enough details to figure out what´s what.

I mean, she literally was created to help mankind in its pursuit of knowledge, so if someone figured out how to work around the "3 questions per century" rule, I think she would let it slide.

Was she create to help mankind or is the relic just a way of talking to her and she's bound by duty to answer the three question. which ever is the case ultimately I thing our disagreement comes out of a different understanding of her character and since she's relatively new to the show we don't have a lot of information to help us judge what she's like.  Where I see her as bound by rules and duty (I think the chains on her arms are a symbol of this but I know that's far from proof) You see her as actively wanted to help. We'll just have to wait and see when information about her appears.

Yeah, I guess we´ll just have to agree to disagree.

Technically, Oz isn't hiding the cookie thing from "us"; just Ruby. Either everybody learns what Oz is hiding from them individually, as groups, and as a whole; or they only learn as a whole.

Great joke though. Did Ruby hide her almond cookies on the top shelf?

Like I'm pretty sure Ruby would mad about her cookie going missing and would want to know who is to blame and with Nora being such a wild card... I could see Ozpin and Oscar playing it safe and hiding it from the whole group. I bet Ozpin took the chance to teach Oscar some stealth and did a heist type of a thing.

Ahem, alternatively Oscar could be pretty open about taking the last cookie, but Ozpin doesn't want people to know he can influence Oscar without Oscar realizing it.

"Okay, but I'm warning you now, this is a PG-13 show. There's some stuff you won't be allowed to say!"

Oh dear now I'm imagining Yang getting a hold of it and asking questions about the "the achieve men"
