Trying to mix blurry shading and outlines. Put a little blue on my gold, then I couldn't get it off. Rats!Rarity in fancy jewlery made sense to me kinda because of 's Mucha Rarity, so cred on that. I probably should look up refs one of these days when designing stuff like this, though XD

I am quite jealous of the raw patience it must have taken you to sit there and maticulously detail every small notch and design in those various bits of jewelry and make them gleam in the way you did.
It also helps that I am most certainly a Rarity and Sweetie Belle fan.

The only flaw I can see is that Rarity's eyes are meant to be blue. Other than that this is absolutely perfect. And so darn cute.

Serenity ponyfied. Seriously, I loved the contrast you made of Rarity's natural shine, reinforced by the jewelry, with the tranquil darkness of the scenery. The effect feels lively, yet soothing.
The style is very close to that of the show, which at least to me is a plus, but the biggest thing about it is that it's done WELL. The expression, understandably not as cartoonish due to the moment, doesn't feel like a posed image, but rather an instant shot - a photographic drawing, if you will. Though the lines are thinner than the show's, the increase in details such as coloring and shading don't allow it to look simplistic at all.
One more thing: that is an excellent work you did on the jewels. The carvings on the gold are extremely intrincate, and wouldn't look out of place at all on real pieces. Mind if I ask what reference you used?

Thankee eversomuchly for this comment :3 I've been trying to find a middle ground between blurry-yet-rendered thing and clean-yet-simple. A friend recommended removing the linework from the jewlery, which I think helped a lot.
In terms of reference... well, I really should use some one of these days XD I kinda have a go-to mental catalog of vegas-wallpaper-style leaves-emerging-from-a-central-point type desings, as well as surrounding things with circles and bumps. Oh, and swirls emerging from straight lines - then leaves can pop off from those too! It's really then just trying to change them up slightly while sketching my way across the pieces and hoping it doesn't look too hodge-podge. X3
