Description
My college is hosting a Game Art alumni show and I was asked to contribute a piece, so I figured I'd revisit my senior project. It was nice to do since I've been wanting to do something more game illustration-ish.
This is supposed to be these two old characters:

Got to love the description given by the guy that suggested it, saying they're mythical Mayan creatures - even though the title gives the real mythology away with "Aztec".

well, at least quetzalcoatl is both, but you are right, i got mixed up, in mayan mythology it's translated Kukulcan

So are jaguars. And there was a traditional rivalry between Quetzalcoatl and the jaguar god Tezcatlipoca.

well, technically speaking the jaguar was actually an Olmec god, and it later on was inherited to a lot of other mesoamerican cultures

You keep making misstatements of fact, and started out by criticizing this piece on incorrect factual grounds. Feathered Serpent vs. Jaguar is in fact a perfectly characteristic Aztec theme, WHATEVER the prehistory of these mythological figures.

Rikki Tikki? You mean Rikki Tikki Tavi? No, that's an Indian story (the asian country) about a mongoose and a cobra from what I remember. This is based off of Aztec (Native American) Mythology. These are two of the more famous rival Aztec gods. Quetzalcoatl is the feathered serpent, and Tezcatlipoca is the Jaguar.
