Description I thought it would be easy but it takes me 3 hr to make the tutorial.

Here is the "clipping mask + masking" technique that's very popular in pixiv right now. You need a good computer to run it or keep all the layers on. (it could end up with more than 100 layers sometimes)

So I may do the one layer tutorial next time to let you feel the difference... maybe...

the final piece you could get it here:>>>>>> [link] <<<<<<<

Can you do this without a tablet?

yes of course, the nice thing about this method is you don't need to actually use the tablet to do what I did. (I use the tablet just to make things easier but mouse won't be a problem to me if you know one of my mouse work...)

To get a better result and make things running smooth, you could use the pencil lining first (mouse lining is nightmare! but still work if you are patient enough. Using a pen tool will be better but I just don't like it), and scan into computer (photo will work too if you know how to use those color balance and curve to enhance the line.) then the masking is very helpful for those who don't have a tablet. (the filling and gradient tool? you could use mouse and get the same effect~)

The most basic pen from PS is enough for you to mask the layer and get the shape you want. if you want to be more efficient, practice the polygonal lasso tool and it's faster.

I've been using mouse to paint for 3 years so I know mouse is more time consuming (finger burns if I paint more than 4hr..).
I hope it helps XD

thanks for this tutorial, I think it helps me a great deal with learning more about Layers and how to use them.
