Description Inspired by , , and others, I decided to give animating in Photoshop a go. It took me a few hours, and I barely used any references, but I'm happy with how it came out.
Though I've seen great things come out from people animating in Photoshop, personally I feel it's best used for animation cleanup and coloring, whilst I use Flash for actual animation work, as I find it's interface easier to use at the moment.

You're not wrong in saying that at all. Photoshop is really strong in the clean-up department.

As far as ease of frame-by-frame work goes, Photoshop CC is probably the easiest out of all the versions of the program so far. Being able to put effects on video groups and clip layers into video groups helps quite a bit once you start getting into the deeper nuance of what's possible.

Thanks for the mention and thanks for giving Photoshop a try. It isn't as quick and dirty as Flash with rough animation, but it is miles better on actually doing drawings that have some life and polish in them.

I noticed that a lot of people who animate with PS has CS4 for higher. I figure the updated versions make it easier, but ya gotta do waht ya can with what ya got! Iย feel using After Effects also helps!
When it comes down to it, it all depends on how complicated the animation will be. If you're gonna animate a fight scene or time things to audio, best rough it in Flash. If the animation is limited to mouths talking like in an anime or simple loops, then you can just stick with Photoshop.
