This took me around 6 hours to make, and boy are the reference pictures varied. This is a mix of all the images I found of the Gen 1 PokéDex, so you might see a few things that aren't meant to be there!Related content

Seeing this really made my day. I'm from the Pokemon generation, and quite frankly never grew out of it. (I keep an original Poke-dex in my purse at all times just to explain)
The thing about this drawing that makes it wonderful isn't the drawing itself, but the memories it educes from the viewer. The no-line technique gives it a wonderful flow, and the bright colors mixed with gradients and highlights gives a modern-style to a classic iconic symbol.
Even if it isn't down to the tee on every detail, it still brings back fond memories of a childhood with friends trading the first 149 (then 151) Pokemon cards, and the beginning of a classic anime and game franchise.
