Lol never have I ever done a competition entry entirely in Photoshop. T'was quite an experience.
I was only going to do the background in PS but the textured brushes I used meant that it would look weird if I used SAI for the horse and have no texture at all soooo I just did the whole thing in PS. Yay. I think it turned out okay considering XD
This is also Edelweiss' debut performance!
pls forgive too much water and pillars, I got creatively carried away ;;

Story:
Andreas gazed at Hampus working away at his costume at the old Singer sewing machine. Being a bit rusty and over 40 years old, the machine was unreliable, and probably more temperamental than any stallion at the stables. He'd watched Hampus get his finger stabbed too many times today already.
"Tea break?"
"No, I have to finish this coat, will still look classy if I just add a tiny bit of glitter, right?"
Andreas threw a teabag at Hampus, where it struck the back of his head with a satisfying thud. "But Hampus dear, it's Earl Grey. “ Hampus immediately took his foot off the pedal and swung his head around to Andreas. "First of all," he said, "We've been through this, don't teabag me. Now give me my mug." Hampus rose from his seat. The tablecloth, coat, and a napkin rose with him, sewn to his trousers. With a deep sigh of frustration, he climbed out of his new trouser-come-coat combo, grabbed his mug of tea and stormed upstairs to bed.
Andreas picked up the mess of fabric and sat at the sewing machine. A master at needlework and having made Hampus' costume at the Royally Frozen show previously, he had several ideas. Throughout the night he worked on the coat by hand, wove glitter thread into the cuff and trim, stuck silver fabric glitter wherever he could and finished by adding opal buttons and thick black straps to the arm.

Hampus awoke that morning and saw the coat hanging up, Andreas had gone home an hour before, leaving a note, "For my campy Hampy, good luck!" Hampus thought with a smile, "Tacky bastard put too much glitter." He turned over the note, which had yet more writing. "P.S. Glitter is not tacky, it's CLASSY."
Adding some silver chains and tassels to an old driving tack set and using what was left of his tablecloth as a saddle cape, Hampus managed to finish up his outfit and tack for the show. He removed a decorative sword from the hallway and gave it a swoosh. "This'll do. This'll do nicely."

The competition went just about as well as Hampus could have imagined. Edelweiss had been trained in dressage more than enough and was starting to become noticeably eager to do more challenging things each time. Hampus was cautious about letting his relatively new horse have a debut as pure dressage as he had done previously with Bastille. His first competition in dressage was less than successful and he didn't think he could handle the disappointment. And then he had seen a competition where he could do freestyle and dress up as fabulously as possible. It was a gift of fate, no less.
The pair of them slayed the dungeon floor, splashing with power and grace, under the lights of bioluminescent life that amalgamated around the skylight. Though the glitter flew everywhere and both horse and rider ended up thoroughly soaked, the pair of them kept it classy, very classy indeed.
