Description
How can I break free of these overclinging armsWhich entwine and enfold me
And reach to the clear blue sea
I want you to know but how can I tell you
I want you to see but my own eyes are blind
(Van der Graaf Generator, Octopus)

I always love tree roots and the rough bark of trees. Many of my photos feature the subject. I enjoy doing HDR processing to bring out colors of bark, mosses, dirt, decaying leaves, and roots. Thanks for sharing your vision of twisted roots!

No problem, I'm glad that you like it. This is not a HDR shot btw.

Nah, didn't think your's was an HDR shot. Just was mentioning I like using HDR on similar subject matter (trees/roots) such as:

"Non era ancor di là Nesso arrivato,
quando noi ci mettemmo per un bosco
che da neun sentiero era segnato.
Non fronda verde, ma di color fosco;
non rami schietti, ma nodosi e 'nvolti;
non pomi v'eran, ma stecchi con tòsco."
It's Dante's Inferno, Canto XIII, lines 1-6.
When I saw this picture, it was the first thing that came to my mind: the forest of suicides.

It looks like an illustration for Grimm's Fairy Tales! What a wonderful, intricate and facinating image.
