It goes some thing like this~
In the universe where this is set, many gates/portals have opened up around the globe/Earth.
On Earth all the supper powers have been defeated so no china, no European Union no USA, no Russia who all could have dealt with the situation.
The countries which have survived are mostly located in Southeast Asia with a few exception like japan, Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, UK, South Korea and India.
The humans are doing fine except for in the population sector, there are only 1 to 1.5 billion humans left on earth.
On the other side of the portal/gate, there are different civilisations like for example in our world there were the Greeks, Mayan etc.
In this world there are different creatures too (mythical ones) like~ different kinds of dragons, vampires, werewolves, hellish beasts, fairies, Demons, monsters, spirits/ghosts, witches, demigods, wizards, any mythical creatures you can think of just not too OP,
different civilisations in that world have different themes, like for this drawing, the train is not present on earth it has gone throw one of the gate/portal. on the way they they were stooped by the chief's daughter, who rides Dragons.
(Basically the train was stooped by a small tribe of dragon riders/trainers, and the men on board the train did not open fire at the dragons cause the humans/solders were ordered to make peaceful relationship with the species of the world they were present in)
(the people who ride the dragons/dragon-riders are curious about the "never seen before""armoured, diesel powered train with cannons/guns like that and the people who run the machine")

i was not going for the dragons/dragon-riders to look defeated, but more curious....
