Description
Let me try to make this as brief as possible. What happened was a police officer by the name of Mark MacPhail was shot and killed at a Burger King parking lot.
The case went on for years. Yes, years from August 19, 1989 (when he was convicted). There were (pretty much false) witnesses and lack of proper evidence. He was sentenced to death two years later.
Lots protested against his sentencing because of the blatant bias of our court system. While I don't give a shit about whether Casey Anthony was innocent or not, I think it's really fucked up they let her off the hook WITH NO EVIDENCE while a black man like Troy gets the death sentence WITH NO EVIDENCE.
If you disagree, fine. But you better have a DAMN good reason too.

I really do mean what I said, so I'm going to have to disagree with you there when it comes to thinking what I said was "ignorant." If you REALLY think about it, there's not really that many people who endorse this execution. Technically he was innocent. I'm not making him as some kind of good guy or anything, but our court system is supposed to be "Innocent until proven guilty," regardless of who thinks he really did it or not. If they think he did it, they have to prove it. As you said, only he purely knows.
I don't really have that much knowledge about Casey Anthony nor do I even care all that much, so I can't really say for sure if there were witnesses in that case.
I do appreciate your feedback nonetheless. Neither MacPhail nor Davis deserved to die. I just don't see why anyone would just pick some random person and decide he's guilty.

That's where our different opinions come in. No matter.. I guess what strikes me to this case is in every other murder story/trials etc.. They need more then just witness's. Camera footage or anything else would be nice. It was strange really.. But I'm not in for that. Maybe racists were the high majority who were satisfied to see him put to court. But I can tell you, as generations go on.. Racism isn't a factor anymore. Well in some cases it isn't..
Ahh, I see. Well.. It's a really interesting case if you want to check it out on DatelineNBC. C:
That's what I wonder.. How exactly did they find Troy Davis? Was it a sample? What drove them to title him as murderer...?

I see what you're saying, but believe it or not, there is racism out there, even if you don't explicitly hear it or see it. Be it against whites, blacks, Latinos, Asians, etc. If it wasn't really racist as in of the real perpetrator was another black man, then I would be more inclined to agree that racism had no part in this case.
From what I know, someone went to the police station and they thought he shot the officer.

Thanks for speaking about Mr. Troy Davis !
First of all, yes, he did not deserve to be executed ! It makes me remember about an old french affair : in 1987, Partrick Dils was convicted of a double homicide on 2 children (they have been stoned to death, awful)... Patrick has been sent to jail for 15 years, and, was recognized innocent... In a country with active capital punishment, he would probably have been executed. Not a billion dollars could repair 15 years passed behind bars!!! But well , for Troy, no science could bring him back from death....
And, as i've already told in a collage i made last year, i'd noticed that afro-american's nation represented 12 % of the global population, when 42 % were in the deathrow.... WHY ? DEATH PENALTY IS JUST FOR MINORITIES IN THIS FUCKING WORLD !!!!!!!!!!
And yes, i fill sick, disgusted, and flew into a towering rage when i saw that.
see you

The reason why there's so many minorities in death row is because the wealthy elite at the very top are so scared of losing even one dollar/euro. They look for scapegoats to desperately cover up their own corruption. From what I've heard, leaders like Sarkozy and Berlusconi want to kick out all the minorities from their countries.

I just found this today, what a sad story. If he was truly innocent (Though how did nobody find out if it was in a Burger King Parking Lot? Wouldn't there be a few people there?), what just happened, I would consider murder and obviously undeserved since they lacked the evidence to actually say that it was him. However, his death will fuel the fire for things like this to stop (Or so I personally believe).

He's dead now.
Can't really do anything about. And maybe he did kill him, I haven't been paying attention to the case but there's a possibility that in the courts that there was enough evidence or that there was just a very good prosecutor or ignorant jury. Nevertheless, there's nothing to do now, but pray for him. . .if you believe in that.

Not precise evidence. We would have been able to know if we actually continued with the investigation. Finding the perpetrator isn't a walk in the park but you could tell that this verdict was rather lazy.

Hm, it sounds all very strange.
Well, though it sounds awful, I hope he was guilty out of the sheer fact that if they ever find out he was innocent it would possibly mean the end of death row.

It's junk like this why America's justice system is so ridiculously flawed. That cop's family didn't want justice or closure, they wanted bloodshed. They wanted somebody to pay. Not the killer, but somebody. If they wanted the killer to pay, they would've kept investigating and made absolutely sure that he was the killer. Not only that, but they denied him a polygraph test, which he asked for! What killer asks for a lie detector test?!
If they find the real killer and realize they killed an innocent man, I want to see the look on that mama's face.

Right on target. I mean really, I know finding the perpetrator isn't easy and all, but this verdict was just dangerous laziness. Worst part is from what I've heard, that even some FBI officials were against the execution, human rights groups were against the execution and pretty much everyone was against it (except for the racist rednecks who assume that "Oh well he was just a nigger who only cared about stealing so that he could buy more drugs, chicken and watermelon"). The fact that Casey Anthony got off, but not him just shows the blatant racism our court system has. I just want to bash my head against the wall.

.... You fail.
The man HERE was innocent of the crime! The person who DID murder that police officer got off scott free, and this innocent man lost his life due to injustice!
There was never enough evidence to prove Troy guilty, and all evidence that COULD HAVE been used to prove he was innocent was prevented from the persecution. In the end he was sentenced to death becasue he couldn't be proven innocent.
Did you read the damned article at all?

Of course, there are also Whites and Latinos who've also been unfairly executed, so it's not just happening to Blacks, but pretty much everyone in general, they just happened to racially profile in Georgia. Everyone is upset by this, even the white majority.

Thank you for making this stamp, just like many protesters in national and international against Death Penalty and against of course with NO evidence, plus too many witness had took back their claims, some people from jury were doubting, some celebrities were against it, and even the former FBI-director were against it, I mean how many FBI police would even make such statements like that, unless there's a HUGE reason like Troy Davis case?! And Amnesty International were begging their arse off to the Georgia state not to execute the wrong man!
I was very upset too, because instead of rushing executing Troy, they could had at least giving him retrial and putting him a DNA-test, just to know for the sure if he was a killer or not, but now he's dead and there is a risk I believe that they had executed the wrong guy! What a fucking mess Georgia state had made and I blame also US High Court for their madness decision! Way to go! -_-
