This image more or less symbolic of Cadence/Chain's connection.
Please pardon me for linking to another deviation of mine, but a bit of them is explained here .
Though as a deviation (hehe, in the dictionary sense, not the dA sense. XD) from the subject matter in the other image, this one is to show how Chain takes advantage of and benefits from Cadence's pain. It's a bit of a mirror to the other image to remind that despite Cadence caring for him and seeing him as a beneficial presence, Chain is a demon; a negative and harmful being.

Pardon me being a bit vague here; Cadence is of a very hardy species, and has the misfortune of being in the keep of someone who is very keen on testing said limits... part of the reason why Chain is so dear to her. Interactions aren't immediately harmful between her and her demon, and he himself has a rather keen interest her alive. (She's not much good to him dead, after all.)
No reason to apologize at all, I appreciate it when people want to know more about my work. n_n

Oh, thank you very much! I'm quite pleased you mentioned that; Cadence, as she is now, has more human looking hands and feet than my other characters. It's good to read that her hands don't seem too off here, as I can't say I feel terribly experienced in drawing them.
As for Chain... he's a joy to draw, including those long, clawed fingers. c:

Well, he's not exactly doing either of those things. (Though I can certainly understand that it may look that way. Reminds me of the disclaimer I was planning to write when I submitted this, before my mind convenienty blanked out right when it was time to set up the description. 
Chain is Cadence's inner demon. They are separate entities, but he is an integral part of her; and certainly the strongest one with how she is, now. His presence doesn't signal anything good, of course, but to her it is... comforting.
