Riding back to HQ with Levi was one of the most relaxing experiences you had ever faced. You rode with your arms wrapped tightly around his chest and your head rested against his back. Bobbing up and down in the saddle gently put all stressful thoughts to rest. Listening to his heartbeat beat steadily, wondering if he was just as nervous as you were about what just happened. He kept his head forward along the path so you figured he most likely wasn't.

Typical Levi… you thought to yourself, smiling in turn and closing your eyes softly.

Levi turned his slightly, just enough that he could catch a glimpse of your beautifully content face resting against his spine. Little did you know, you were the first person he had ever developed feeling before. He had a few flings before he joined the Scouting Legion but those meant nothing. He had never been one to settle down due to the looming threat just outside Wall Rose. He was never one to take chances. But then you came along…and that's when everything changed.

From the first day you had met him, made contact with him, acknowledged him as your superior, everything simply fell into place. He wasn't one to believe in fate, destiny, anything of the sort but you made it seem as though he was supposed to meet you and eventually fall for you.

And he fell.

Levi fell far…

He snapped his head back to face forward, trying to waver the immense distraction that you had become for him. The way you kissed him set his heart ablaze. The cold expression of his melted away and his mask cracked every moment he spent with you. Silently blaming you for all the trouble you were causing him, he turned back to face your resting form with a small, warm smile plastered on his face.

The two of you rode in silence until he dismounted the horse outside of the stables. Eren who had been busy mucking the stalls all day, spotted you and the Corporal riding back into HQ. Placing the shovel against the wall, he watched Levi help you down from the horse, his hands lovingly wrapped around your torso as you giggled softly to yourself. The brunette felt his heart sink a little lower before returning to his previous duty. Hearing the sound of hay and dirt scrunching up against each other, you turned your head towards the stables only to see Eren with his back turned to you, however you did spot an almost heartbroken look simmering upon his features.

"It's getting late, Levi. I'll see you later?"

Sensing that you had other plans in mind, Levi nodded and began to turn away. Before he walked off, he sharply turned back and pulled your head towards his lips. Planting a soft, chaste kiss on your forehead, you felt the blood rushing to your cheeks once again. You felt yourself lean into his touch and gently grasping onto his green cloak.

"I'll see you later," he whispered gently against your forehead through half-lidded eyes.

Turning on his heel, he walked away from you, leaving you outside the stables. Eren had been watching the entire time but had turned back once Levi had left, pretending not have noticed anything. His throat stung from choking back tears and his head was pounding in retaliation. He didn't want to ruin that moment for you, but at the same time he wanted to shove Levi away and take you in his arms. He should have been the one to kiss you like that.

"If you grip that shovel any tighter, it'll snap," came your voice from behind him.

Eren jumped up in surprise, face red as a tomato as he turned around to face you. You were standing against the doorway of the stables, smiling softly at the young boy. He stumbled towards you in a hurried manner, dirt smothering his boots. How he managed to keep his entire uniform other than his boots clean was impressive. Perhaps some of Levi's habits had rubbed off on him and the other soldiers.

"_______-! I- uh…I would like…" Eren stumbled over his words, not able to get the sentence out.

"Yeah?" You urged him, wanting to know what he had to say.

He reached out to grasp onto your hand which you responded to in kind, your hand already beginning to shake from nervousness. Rough appendages softly wrapped around yours and he seemed to become more confident. Leading you out the doorway of the stables, his hand tightened around yours. You swore you could feel his pulse beating rapidly. Or was that yours? You didn't know. All you knew was that Eren was leading you away from the Scouting Legion headquarters. He lead you through the tree, hand in hand.

"So…how was your 'excursion' with…him?" Eren immediately questioned.

Shit. You were hoping to avoid this particular topic. Letting your gaze sink to your feet you didn't respond. You couldn't to that! How were you supposed to respond to that? It was nice? We rode horses? It was just Levi and I? It was romantic? We kissed?

"Where are you taking me?" You abruptly responded to his question with a question. You didn't want to hurt Eren. Not now.

"Somewhere where we can be alone."

Great. Alone. Again.

Eren lead you through the underbrush of the trees eventually coming into a secluded hilltop save for one tree that reached far beyond the tops of the trees, the sun's rays streaming over the emerald grass creating a new colour altogether. He still held tightly onto your hand when he had finally stopped walking. Turning his head back to you, you watched his eyes turn even more vibrant than usual.

"So…?" He quietly began, keeping eye contact with you.

"What?"

"Are you going to tell me?" His stare was now piercing your gaze. Uncomfortably, you shifted your feet from side to side.

"Tell you what?" You were so desperate to avoid this topic...

"Better yet, are you going to answer my question from before?"

You thought long and hard about this answer. You couldn't lie to his face. Even if you did, he'd call you out on it. He knew about your feelings towards Levi and there's no way you could get away with such a lie. Inhaling sharply you chose your next words carefully.

"I don't have to admit anything." You slowly said, exhaling the sigh you didn't realise you were holding.

Eren stepped away from you, seemingly accepting your answer and moved towards the large tree. You followed him and placed a hand against the firm bark of the giant tree. Looking up, you made contact with streams of light making their way through the beautiful green leaves of the hidden world above you.

Like a door, the leaves concealed a world of their own. One of mystery, one of serenity, one of beauty. A world of peace. How you wished you could join them. Another sigh left your lips as you leaned back against the thick trunk of the tree. Closing your eyes, you listening to the rustling of the leaves and the symphony of the wind that ran though them. Like a song that played only for your ears, you smiled ever so slightly. Opening your eyes, you turned your head to face Eren.

…Or least where he would have been standing.

The brunette boy was no longer where he stood before.

"Eren?" you questioned out loud however you received no answer

You began to grow with worry.

He was here a minute ago…!

"Eren? Answer me!" your voice grew with fear. You didn't know where you were and he had disappeared into this air.

Was he a dream? Had you simply dreamt all this and blacked out? Soon, you couldn't begin to tell reality from surreal. Eren was here with you before.

"Eren Jaeger!" you yelled, your voice laced with concern now. Spinning around and around, you frantically searched for the boy. You circled the tree over and over again but to no avail. He had completely vanished. Giving up, you leaned back against the tree trunk and tried to calm your beating heart.

"Goddammit…what is going on?"

"Nothing much, really. We're just…hanging around," an all too familiar voice whispered in your ear.

You jumped ten feet. The scream that you didn't know you were surprising came rocketing out of your lungs and left you breathless for a couple of minutes. You whirled around to come face to face with Eren…upside down. His legs were hooked onto a branch suspended several feet above your head and he was hanging off it, his arms folded across his chest. That smirk he was wearing was one of pure satisfaction. You scowled in return as you warily approached him.

"Bloody hell, Eren…do you know how badly you scared me?"

"I'd said a lot considering that scream." His smirk only grew with your scowl.

"You are an arse." you mumbled to him as you approached closer, your faces almost meeting.

"Hey, come on. You gotta give me credit. I'm more fun than Short-Stack," you whispered coyly.

You raised an eyebrow at his statement. He was right. Levi was more serious but aimed to take care of you and viewed everything logically. Whereas in contrast, Eren was more fun to be around. Not only would he aim to care for you but tried everything to make you smile, just as he always did from the very first time you had met during your time at the Training Corps. A small smile crept across your face and your cheeks were dusted in light pink.

"Oh, oh! Wait! I think I see a smile~" Eren excitedly pointed out, poking your cheeks playfully while grinning widely.

Your smile got the better of you and took over that scowl you had be trying to retain. You let out a giggle as you moved closer to the boy who was hanging upside down. Your noses almost met and you could feel his hot breath on your lips. His breathing had picked up with each step you took towards him.

"You are an idiot, Eren Jaeger. An adorable one, but still an idiot…" His smirked widened and eventually brought his lips to yours. Giggling at the positions the two of you were currently in, your hands found their way to his cheeks, softly caressing the pink skin. You leaned into his kiss which was nothing but pure passion. As if someone had set fire to your heart but never came close to killing you. He moaned slightly when your fingers began to gently rake through his hair and along the back of his neck. Satisfied with the noises he was making, you longed to hear more. Becoming slightly more aggressive in caressing his neck, he moaned louder. Eren felt bolder in wanting to love you, but had to concentrate on both kissing your sweet lips as well as keeping his grip on the tree. He grabbed the branch with one hand and allowed the other to sweep around your neck and grasp onto your hair, pulling you closer and deepening the kiss. You immediately granted him entrance when his tongue swept across your upper lip. Your eyes were tightly shut but you could anticipate his every move.

You suddenly felt another hand tangle itself in your locks. Eren was no longer holding onto the branch with his hands and simply his legs as before. You thought nothing of it as you knew how incredibly strong he was. Unbeknownst to you, Eren was struggling to keep his legs from becoming jelly. He had to re-tighten his grip every couple of seconds due to your magic touch. His heart rate had picked up severely and was now finding it difficult to kiss you and keep himself from falling. You subconsciously let your hands slip down the front of his chest and massaged his toned torso. Another loud moan erupted from his chest and vibrated against your palms. Eventually, he couldn't hold on any longer and his legs came tumbling down above him and collided against you.

You let out a small yelp as he came toppling down on you. The two of you hit the ground with a thud and you both groaned in pain. Eren pushed himself off of you, laughing at his clumsiness to which you joined. His flushed cheeks matched ten shades of red as he sheepishly played with a lock of your hair. Your hand laced itself around the back of his neck as his deep green eyes locked onto yours and you suddenly felt compelled to pull him down for one last passionate kiss. His lips moved in sync with yours and he ran his hand through your silky hair.

Finally, he pulled away, still watching you through half-lidded eyes.

"You're an idiot, Eren Jaeger," you mumbled, trying to catch your breath and steady your thoughts.

"You love me anyway," he retorted, pecking your lips once again, grinning all the while.
