Wow... This took a really long time to make...But now I'm done!
This picture is based off of a dream I had about a litte boy who got lost in Lost Woods and was going to become a skull kid. Actually, this is only a fragment from the dream. I can't remember what happened before or after this part in the dream, though I do know that the rest of it was pretty much completely unrelated to it.During this scene I was floating above the boy and looking down at him as he smiled. He was happy to live in the forest and be a child forever, even if it was as a skull kid. I think he was supposed to be the boy that became the skull kid that Link gives the skull mask to and who appears in Majora's Mask.

There is a non-canon backstory for that Skull Kid, actually, in the Ocarina of Time manga. Have you read it yet?

How curious, I always imagined the Skull Kid from Majora's Mask to be more or less as you did him here, when he still was a normal kid. Especially the hair!

Seriously, the image just has such a beautiful, bittersweet sense of wonder about it. Being a child forever.... It's just such a magical possibility.... and yet what about the things you would lose?
It's like some kind of Peter Pan conundrum.... he knows so many joys that other children never dream of, but there are some joys from which he must be forever barred....
This is just so beautifully enchanting.
