Description
HELLO I'D LIKE TO INTRODUCE YOU TO MY DRAGONSON, GALADORhe's my precious bb child and I love him so much
he's a major introvert, an INFP, somewhere on the asexual spectrum, lives on a mountain and likes meat. he's a loner but has really taken to my gargoyle boy, Francis (who I need to draw at some point also). I love his flooffy mane and he has paws n claws too~ (´▽`ʃƪ)♡ alsoo he has Asian features and I'm not sure exactly where he's from.
I finished this sketch from aages ago after rewatching Jurassic World and REALLY WANTING TO DRAW REPTILES
here's a sooper quick sketch of his face since it's the only other thing of him I have ahahh
also I found this thing I wrote about him so I'll leave that here too (warning for previous animal deaths; he's a dragon whaddaya want)
~~~
I spot a dark cavity in the mountainside; it’ll make due for the night. I circle once before landing nearby. It doesn’t smell quite right. Abandoned caves reek of mildew and moss, but this one… doesn’t. It’s too dark to search for another shelter, so I puff myself up and enter.
The cave is unusually warm. The source is a rough fireplace near the cave wall, glowing with a few embers and coals. My eyes adjust and I realize that I’m not alone. A green and gold dragon is crouched before me. His gold eyes meet mine with a strong brew of apprehension and curiosity. “Who are you?” His voice is low and raspy, like rumblings of the earth itself.
“Just a weary traveler. Sorry, I didn’t think this cave was occupied.”
He finally breaks his stare. “It’s fine. You can stay, I guess.”
“Really? I appreciate that.”
He doesn’t reply.
“What’s your name?”
“… Galador.”
“Nice to meet you, Galador.” I tell him my name and approach to shake paws, but he flinches. I decide to give him some space.
We sit in silence broken only by the crackling flame to our side until he speaks again. “I’m hungry.” He slinks to a darkened corner of the cave and returns with a singed carcass in his paws – it looks like it might have once been a jackalope. He sits a few metres from me and digs in. His face darts up and he stares at me. “Do you want some?”
I look at the thing he holds. I ate recently but it does seem tempting, plus he doesn’t seem to be the type who shares meals often. I nod. “Maybe just a bite.”
A leg is ripped off and handed to me; far more than a ‘bite’. “Thanks,” I say. I inspect the leg. Jackalope fur is easy to remove once killed, but Galador doesn’t seem to know that. Or care. I glance up to see him biting off chunks and swallowing them whole. I discreetly remove the fur and taste the meat. My host may not know how to properly clean a kill, but he sure can roast it to perfection.
The whole beast is consumed within moments, and Galador tosses the bones haphazardly in a pile behind him. He sighs and lunges forward, spreading his wings and stretching his limbs. I follow suite. He sits motionless for a moment. “I’m tired. I think I’ll sleep now.” He peers at me for a moment. “You said you needed a place to stay?”
I nod. It’s a bit of a flight home; one that I’d rather make in the morning. “You really don’t mind my intrusion?”
He shakes his head. “No. As long as you don’t tell others about this place, you can do as you want.” With that, he crawls to a deerskin stretched out near the fire and plops down. There are still bloodstains on it and it seems a bit old and worn, but it’s good enough for Galador. Within an instant he springs back up. A moment into the back of the cave and he returns with another skin, this one the unmistakable hide of a horse. “You can have this one.” And he lies back down, his breath slowing to a measured rhythm. Smoke begins to seep from his nostrils.
I watch the boy for a moment before curling up on my borrowed spread. It smells earthy and homely, and before long I join Galador in Neverland.
