Over the next 30 days I will be doing a piece everyday. In a series called artists, I will be making posters based on lyrics by Brand New.9/30

Okay to answer your other question too -
I start off by collecting paper textures, or making my own and scanning them.
Then I design the poster with vectors drawing everything - then once the composition is good I go back and select each piece, and use the brush tool with a water color brush texture so its not all even. switching the textures with each part.
then put the paper textures over top of everything and mess with the layer blend modes - multiply and overlay mixed with soft light sometimes. then tweak out the colors because they will change once the paper is on.
its all about messing with different techniques - I have been working to perfect this in this series. hopefully that helps - maybe I'll put together a tutorial after I am all done with everything?
