I was smoking cigarettes strolling through here, not concerned haha

are you saying you started the fire with a cigarette? maybe you shouldn't say that online.

good shot , seems too close to be dangerous for someone to photograph .
its an interesting view but also sad to see such a forest burns ..

have you been there when the fire went down ?
could be interesting to see the place after it , fresh after burning .

This is a striking shot. Something dangerous, gloomy, yet beautiful. The flames do add to the shot in a photo-journalistic way, but I'd be interested in seeing the scenery without the flames.

For some reason, I feel like I would prefer this photo if you couldn't see the flames at the bottom of it.. I'm not sure why, it might be because of how much they stand out compared to the rest of it... But either way, great shot

Not a pretty sight. This year we where free of large fires, but often there is that other side of the summer.

Looks like you had to go pretty near the fire with your 10-22. Worth it, I like how the flames develop the whole image from the bottom up.

wonderful idea and view point, gives us the view from the other side, the fire that wants to spread. hope it got contained before doing more damage.

This is a change from your usual waterscape Drew.
I can almost hear and feel the heat of the fire.
Did you use a long exposure for the flames? It worked well if you did.
I really like this - even though fire is a horrible thing.
