I've read bush fires are really common during summer in OZ, its all part of nature's destruction and rejuvenation process
Beautifull capture!

I love your picture, it's very dramatic and taken from an outstanding angle. How did you manage to get so close??

Anyways, it's merely personal opinion of course, but the title struck me funny just because forest fires are actually a very helpful thing. As much as they take away, they give back just as much in rebrith.

That doesn't matter now though, all that matters is how amazing this shot is!

i think this is the best composition of the forest fire photos.. shortly followed by burnt out forest. they both work equally well but capture a different feeling.

it makes me sad...

so this is photojournalism? like there's a fire recently? or is it something from a bit back?

damn, reminds me of the recent fires in Russia. The world's not gonna end instantly. This is our 2012 - floodings, fires, earthquakes, insane temp. The end is nigh...

Yeah, that ain't good. Great photo though. Usually with video and maybe photo, flames don't look good at all, but they do stand out here.

This is a wonderful photo, and like a Pheonix the forest and medows will grow back from the fertile ash. There are even some plants that must be set ablaze in order to release their seeds. It is horrible to see something like this happen and all the chaos left in its wake, but there will be new. I do, however, really find myself attracted to how all the flames sort of grow towards the middle of the photo.

Sometimes through devistation though we can get growth. A powerful and magnificently captured shot, the vivid color of the fire versus the scourced background make this a wonderful shot.
