Description Meet Archaeoceratops. This adorable early member of the horned dinosaurs is a much better model for the ceratopsid ancestor than the better known Psittacosaurus, which is too specialized (and lived too late in time).

Just to ask, which primitive Chinese ceratopsian is it?

Any chance of you doing Yinlong? (The paper is shitty) Also, how am I sopposed to illustrate the cerapod notch? (In front of the eye)

I'd love to do Yinlong, but I would need photos of the axial column in lateral view. Everything else I have (from photos or the paper). Maybe this summer I could do it if I'm not travelling too much.

Thanx. What about the notch?

Whoops, I forgot. Um...(looks closely at illustration) which notch "in front of the eyes"?

The spike in front of the eye.

Ahh, gotcha. There would have been soft tissue runningfrom the palpabrow horn (the spike) to the top of the orbit, so in life it would have made fierce-looking sunblockers for small ornithiscians. Maybe sometime I will have to draw it.
