I think that is a better idea than mine. This one really can't win (or be sold) because I don't have permission to publish all of the included images. It is fine for sharing here, but not really something I can use seriously. However, Adidas would like the idea of using their products in the photomosaic. I just don't know how to get enough photos of them to make a reasonable photomosaic.

thats true, you could just grab the pics off of their website. of shoes and stuff. i dont know, i would do it but i dont have a program to make the mosaics. you should do it and win.

It is OK... I do this more for my fellow Deviants than for a prize. I guess if it does win I will need to split the winnings with everyone else on DA

I'm glad you like it. You should check out my other photomosaics at [link]

1. I don't have enough of my own photos to generate a recognizable photomosaic (it really does take 1000s).

2. I think that it is all of our icons is what makes it cool. It is what gives it meaning.

Find a program that does photomosaics. I use metapixel on Linux, but there are other freeware apps like it on other platforms. There is even a nice plugin for Gimp if you use that.

Once you have the app, the first thing you need to do is to import a lot of images to make up the small image database. It helps if all of the images are in the same ratio of height to width... depending on the app, it will either crop or stretch you small images to fit into the goal shape. Square works well. I posted a nice large collection of DA user icons at [link] which makes for a great starting point. Download all parts of this and unpack them into a directory and point the photomosaic app you use to that directory to import the small image database.

There fun to make and not at all hard to do. Good luck!

I just noticed that there is an additional Adidas logo just left of center in the image. Someone must use their logo as a deviant ID. Cool.
