Auto-generated wallpaper. DeviantART admin Heidi [link] rendered in a cascading photomosaic of DeviantART user icons. This was based on $heidi 3 [link] by =gimmyfood [link]

This is my 2nd wallpaper based on the DA Core Staff. The other is of Angelo Sotira [link] that can be found here: [link]

The image was generated by making layers of photomosaic images using metapixel [link] on Linux. The layers are still rectangular... I hope to make them oval shaped before too long.

The DA image collection used contains more than 81K images (really only a fraction of the total number of DA users). As animated GIF icons were sliced into frames, there are more icons than users they represent. I also did the best I could to clean the collection of duplicate images. Each layer was rendered to not repeat images, but I haven't come up with a way to avoid repeating images between layers.

The icon collection can be found here: [link] I'm sure the DA community can come up with more creative uses for 81K 50x50 images.

I do NOT have the approval of the owners of the icons to use them for this purpose. I would be interested in any information anyone has as to if this falls under fair use. I do not do this for profit, but collect these as a gift for the DA community.
