And here is the 3rd entry out of a set of 3, of my 5th attempt at entering, and winning, the Illustrator's of the Future contest. Needless to say, for those of you who are just joining us... no, I did not win this 5th attempt. ( ) It was a valiant effort, I suppose, but... I guess I still needed to improve even more. It's... somewhat bittersweet, because looking at the composition, the anatomy, the lighting, the textures... I was really happy that I had gotten to a point where I could pull an artwork like this off, actually.

I have since gotten better. Much better. It's hard to believe, really. At the time, I was even quite flabbergasted when I managed to even get this far. Heh. But oh well. Onward and upward. I shall continue to improve. I guarantee it.

By the way, the two figures in the image may look somewhat familiar. The strapping young man on the left is none other than Voroshilov Rosutin, albeit in his younger days. Her's an old man by now, hahaha: Voroshilov Rosutin .

The other figure you might recognize as being familiar, but in reality I've never actually uploaded an artwork of her before, though, that's not to say there isn't a good reason for the aura of familiarity around her. She is, in fact, none other than Sara Bhilatskova 's Mother, Lahredta Bhilatskova.

This illustration is another scene from my epic scifi/fantasy novel that I hope to someday publish yadda yadda, et al, I think the status of the book has been in limbo for a while now. Grr. But it IS a part of the world. And I DO hope to one day get the story out. So I won't say too much regarding the details surrounding the circumstances of this image. But having said that, given how these two appear to be, one might be inclined to ask:

Is Voroshilov Rosutin Sara's father?

...
