i would have to agree with everyone else, something i don;t normally do. i would try and work the figure into the back groud.

There's very little for me to say here, having read eveyrone else's suggestions. I am in general agreeance with them: try and work the person into the scene, instead of just putting them there.

yeah, listen to vampbabe -- if you are doing photo manipulations dont just draw a 2D person and paste them in there....make the additions to the pic seem like it belongs in the picture, not just cut and pasted onto the top....which is why if you're doing something like this take a picture of a man who is sad and work it into the picture, dont draw a cartoon for it because that is not going to give the piece the emotional feel you're going for.....

i agree with vampbabe... the background itsself, isnt perfect.. so it could do with som fixing. and the man.. it just dosnt work, putting a mediu like that stright on top of a photograph, yo nedd 2 blend them, take a look around at some other artists that do this sorta work, and youl get a a good idea.
its a good try, but it can b even better if u work on it a bit.
good luck

Thanks for your comment! I see what you mean. I tried to blend them (with a layer mask) but it only made the man transparent. So I have no idea how to do it.
Do you have a link to other artists who do this kind of things because I can't seem to find one.

Okay... having done a lot of photo manipulations, here's the things I spotted. The photo itself could do with a bit more playing around ie tinting, saturation/hue fixing that sort of thing. And the man stands out like a sore thumb mainly b/c you've tried to combine two very different mediums here. There are ways to do this without it looking so "layered" but things that help are: same colours running through man and background to tie em together or maybe drawing the man a little differently. And last but not least, a border. It always just makes pieces that lil bit easier on the eye.
Good luck!
