I was like "wow, she wrote a whole poem, this is pretty good" as I read I thought "this is kind of repetitive, more like a pop song".

Maybe they were in the list... Dunno, but I like Three Days Grace thanks to the lyrics they make, the music is cool to, but I prefer to appreciate the lyrics. There might be one you can indentify with

There are too many people who call anything with less then perfect vocals "death metal".
I'm like "no. There is heavy metal, progressive metal, thrash metal, groove metal, black metal, symphonic metal, death metal (and it's Norwegian, Sweedish, and Finnish branches), folk metal, power metal, speed metal, and atmospheric metal. And all those have tons of subgenras.
And then there is Metalcore, grindcore, gorecore, deathcore, emo, and screamo which are commonly mistaken for metal and hated by the metal community."
70% of the people I talk to who claim they like metal, actually listen to metalcore, emo, screamo, and rarely deathcore.
You want metal? Amon Amarth, Lamb of God, Arch Enemy, Darkthrone, Gorgoroth, Iron Fire, and Moonsorrow.
Absolutely no Black Vail Brides, Bring me the Horizon, Asking Alexandria, Chealsea Grin, or similar poser crap.

Don't worry, thanks... I had no idea there was so many genres and subgenres... I won't comit the same mistakes... I hear music cause I like music but mostly for the lyrics, when I get as excited as you is usually about anime or Pokemon...
I have a friend who appreciates music as much as you do (for what I can read) so I understand, I'm used to it. Don't worry

I used to be a big Pokèmon fan. I won the Black and White State championship.
And... I can't really get into anime. They freak me out a little, and I've watched tons (always recommendations) of anime but never liked it much. Although, it's usually very imaginitive, more so then I could ever do.
