Wow. Possibly one of the coolest spider shots I have ever seen. You can see the camera in the refection in his eyes. Wicked.

That is amazing! I really think you made that spider look beautiful. You seriously brought out all the good points of a spider in this shot.

wow... like first of all how the hell were you able to get that close to him without him jumping away and second of all how the hell did you do that? lol kinda makes you wonder what he was thinking, giant camera in his face and all.

When it's cold bugs ain't moving much I used combination of two lenses which, when combined, behave as small microscope
What was he thinking? dunno, probably not much as there was no food for him in range of his eyes

I used easy trick - I simulated cold morning putting spider to a fridge for a while

ooooooooooh!
well, we do not have any cold mornings around here. Hence, all of my close ups of spiders, with the exception of one wolf spider (who stayed still for reasons unknown to me), are of spiders on webs -- who are very still most of the time.
I do have a great collection of spider shots.

How did you manage to catch the lil guy without squashing him?

Wow. I am speechless.
The detail is beyond amazing. I never would been able to imagine a reflection in a spider's eye. He/She has beautiful eyes.

I've always loved spiders, the jumping variety being my favorite. I love how they look, and how they look *at* you. This is such an amazing photo, with incredible detail. Beautiful eyes on your subject!
