Well if they are all fairy tails to you then what's the problem? Also Odinson is alive he just became unworthy of the hammer making it so he's not Thor any more. Thor is really the name of the one who wields the power, so yes the girl who came along and picked it up is Thor because she is worthy of holding it and controlling it's power. It also turns out that they had this story in the works for years and the most recent Thor stories actually have lead up to this one. It's the same story, no back story that happened behind the scenes. And I would not mind at all a comic of a girl Jesus, in fact I wouldn't even mind a comic about Jesus at all. If the point is entertainment and not to slander or make fun of, I'm fine.

Story tellers don't just get bored and just kill off a character they had in the works for years. Especially with Marvel. This Thor is the new Thor series and maybe after like 50-100 issues and like another 100 appearances in other character stories not including the Avengers they might want to do something new but that means they have to reset all of the marvel universe in some epic way.

There is something wrong with taking an actual god from a religion and making the god a goddess... I am not being sexist but to me, this is just as bad as representing Allah as a character, Muslims believe that their god is too unimaginable to interpret as any being.

They do it because Thor actually dressed up as a girl in one story from norse mythology. And no, it's not really as bad as representing Allah as a character, because the norse religions are kinda extinct by now and therefore, noone are offended by this.

Marvel's Thor has almost nothing to do with the actual Thor. If you want to be sensitive about them mishandling a religious figure you should have started LONG before they switched his gender.

It is simply an interpretation. Many other forms of media take gods or goddesses and change their personality, likes, dislikes, appearance etc. It's not a one time occasion.

How is it insulting? Anyone is free to interpret as they wish. And don't forget that there's a legend when Thor dresses up as a women too.
I have seen maybe people switch the genders of gods and no one is offended in the slightest. It's not mocking a religions, it's looking at things a different way. There's plenty of other ways they could try to insult a religion, but this isn't one of them.
